Women’s Golf third at NJCAA Women’s South District Championship

Wallace State Community College’s women’s golf team finished third in the district at the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Women’s South District Championship in Brenham, Texas.

Women’s Golf Finish Second at Home Tournament; Ranked 15th in Nation

Wallace State’s women’s golf team finished second to Shelton State Community College this week at the Wallace State Spring Invite. Held on their home course of Cross Creek Golf Course, the Lions finished at +96, only three strokes behind the Buccaneers at +93. Two Wallace State Lions finished in the top five, with sophomore Abby Gattis of Jacksonville coming in at No. 2 at +16, five strokes behind tournament’s individual winner, Peyton Maraman of Shelton State. Sophomore Aiden Haithcock of Hoover came in at No. 3, only one stroke behind Gattis.

Volleyball, Cross Country move up in polls

Wallace State Community College Volleyball has moved up to first place in the North division of the Alabama Community College Conference rankings and up to 14 in the National Junior College Athletic Association poll. The Wallace State Cross Country teams also moved up in the national polls. The women’s team moved up one spot to fourth in the nation in the NJCAA Division II Women’s Cross Country National Coaches’ Poll for Week 3, while the men also gained a spot to move up to sixth in the nation in the men’s poll.

More than 80 athletes named to ACCC Commissioner’s Honor Roll

Wallace State Community College is proud to announce that more than 80 student athletes earned recognition by Alabama Community College Conference for academic excellence for the Spring 2023 semester by obtaining a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Student athletes who earn a GPA of 3.0 or higher are placed on the ACCC Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
