Wallace State Men’s Tennis Ranked 5th in Latest Poll

The Wallace State men’s golf team is ranked 5th nationally in the latest poll, released March 6 by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). The Lions are currently 12-0 overall and 7-0 in the conference.
More than 100 student athletes, 8 teams on ACCC Commissioner’s Honor Roll

Wallace State Community College Athletics had 116 Student-Athletes across all 12 sports teams named to the 2024 Alabama Community College Conference (ACCC) Commissioner’s Honor Roll for the Fall Semester. Standards for the Honor Roll require student athletes to achieve a GPA of 3.0 or higher throughout the course of the semester.

The Wallace State Men’s Tennis team earned strong finishes at the 2024 Oracle Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Cup, held in Rome, Ga., from Oct. 10-13. The Lions competed against top junior college players from across the nation and secured top-three placement in both singles and doubles play.

Wallace State Community College hosted the Fall Bash Volleyball Tournament over the weekend, welcoming teams to campus for a packed slate of matches. The Wallace State Volleyball team competed in five games, earning three victories, including a 3-0 sweep over Walters State Community College on Sept. 21 to close out the tournament. The Wallace State Men’s and Women’s Cross Country teams both delivered fourth-place finishes at the UT Southern Firehawk Invitational held at Oakville Indian Mounds Park in Moulton on Sept. 21. Wallace State earned a second place finish this week at the Chuck Kalanick Memorial Golf Tournament, hosted by Snead State Community College at Cherokee Ridge Country Club.

The Wallace State Volleyball team continued their strong start to the season with a sweep of Bevill State at home on Sept. 11. The Lady Lions posted a 3-0 victory with set scores of 25-5, 25-14 and 25-13, further improving their record and showcasing their depth in front of a home crowd. The Wallace State Men’s Golf team showcased solid performances at the Dan York Memorial Tournament in Pensacola, Fla., finishing sixth overall in a competitive field. Wallace State’s Tennis teams delivered strong performances in their first home matches against Itawamba Community College on Sept. 11.
