Ticket Punched: Lions Headed to Hutch for Fifth Time in School History
Wallace State men's basketball has punched their ticket to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) national tournament in Hutchinson, KS. The Lions earned the #22 seed and will face the #11 seed Frank Phillips College Plainsmen. The game will take place at 8:00 PM on Sunday, March 23 at the Hutchinson Sports Center and will be televised on ESPN+.

The top-seeded Wallace State men’s basketball team won a 2025 Alabama Community College Conference Championship semifinal game against Lawson State on Friday Night at Spragins Hall on the campus of Alabama-Huntsville by a score of 98-84 to advance to the championship game on Saturday.
Lions repeat as ACCC Conference Tournament Champs
The top-seeded Wallace State men’s basketball team won the 2025 Alabama Community College Conference Championship by defeating Southern Union 98-90 on Saturday night at Spragins Hall on the campus of Alabama-Huntsville. The championship is their second consecutive tournament championship and their fifth overall.
The Lions are the first team to punch their ticket to the NJCAA National Tournament in Hutchinson, KS later this month.
Men’s and Women’s Basketball Teams Receive Byes in ACCC Tourney
Wallace State Community College’s men’s and women’s basketball teams each received byes for the Alabama Community College Conference (ACCC) Division I Basketball Tournaments. The Lions are seeded No. 1 and the Lady Lions are seeded No. 2 their respective tournaments, which will be held Thursday-Saturday, March 6-8 at Spragins Hall on the campus of the University of Alabama-Huntsville.
Lions Basketball Clinch Regular Season Title
The Wallace State Community College men’s basketball team clinched the 2024-2025 Alabama Community College Conference (ACCC) regular season title at home this week with a commanding 108-74 victory over Coastal Alabama-South. The women’s team also celebrated a decisive win, defeating Coastal Alabama 84-50.
