Game Preview: Lions Host Gordon State in Early-Season Non-Conference Test Tuesday
HANCEVILLE – Wallace State men’s basketball will step back onto its home floor Tuesday, Dec. 2, when the Lions welcome Gordon State College for a key early-season non-conference showdown at Traditions Bank Arena inside Tom Drake Coliseum. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. in Hanceville and will stream on the Wallace State YouTube channel.
It’s another measuring-stick night for a Wallace State program coming off a historic 26–6 campaign and an ACCC championship in 2024–25, and which has once again challenged itself with a demanding November schedule that included neutral-site and road dates against Northwest Florida State and Pensacola State at the Pensacola State Thanksgiving Classic.

Wallace State Survives Triple-OT Thriller to Advance to ACCC Championship Game
In one of the most dramatic and unforgettable games of the inaugural ACCC flag football season, top-seeded Wallace State survived a heart-pounding three-overtime battle to defeat Snead State 33–32 in the semifinals of the ACCC Championships at Rip Hewes Stadium. With the victory, the undefeated Lions (19–0) advance to Sunday’s title game, where they will face third-seeded Shelton State, which upset Calhoun 12–6 in overtime.
Wallace State’s Kile Named ACCC MVP; Howard Earns Coach of the Year as Lions Enter Conference Tournament Unbeaten
Wallace State flag football continues to rewrite history in its inaugural season, and on the eve of the ACCC Conference Championships, two of the program’s biggest leaders were honored for their remarkable performances. Quarterback Emma Kile was named the ACCC Conference MVP, while head coach Daniel Howard earned ACCC Coach of the Year after guiding the Lions to an astounding 18-0 record in their first-ever season.
