Wallace State Community College is proud to announce the inaugural Wallace State Athletics Benefit Dinner, scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2025. This event, presented by Traditions Bank, will celebrate the launch of the Lion Athletics Fund, a new initiative dedicated to enhancing the student-athlete experience across all athletic programs at Wallace State.

Wallace State Women’s Golf Finishes 5th in NJCAA Div II Nationals

The Wallace State women's golf team capped the year with a fifth-place finish at the NJCAA Division II National Championship. The Lions competed at the four-day national tournament at the Cedar Point Golf Course in Boone, Iowa. The Lions finished with a team score of 1,372 (+220) over four rounds of action.
Wallace State Women’s Golf Advances to NJCAA Golf Championship

The Wallace State Women’s Golf team competed in the NJCAA South District Tournament at Cider Ridge Golf Club last week. The Lions finished the tournament in fourth place. Their finish earned them a spot in the National Tournament, May 12-15.

Wallace State Community College Athletics had 116 Student-Athletes across all 12 sports teams named to the 2024 Alabama Community College Conference (ACCC) Commissioner’s Honor Roll for the Fall Semester. Standards for the Honor Roll require student athletes to achieve a GPA of 3.0 or higher throughout the course of the semester.
Athletics Roundup: Cross Country Teams Earn Runner-Up Finishes at Topper Trails College Classic; Women’s Golf Finishes Sixth at Snead State Invitational; Volleyball Defeats Calhoun and Bevill State

The Wallace State Men’s and Women’s Cross Country teams continued their strong performances this season, each securing second-place finishes at the Topper Trails College Classic hosted by Blue Mountain College in Blue Mountain, Miss., on Sept. 28. Wallace State Women’s Golf Finishes Sixth at Snead State Invitational. Wallace State secured a sixth-place finish out of 13 teams at the Snead State Invitational, held Sept. 30-Oct. 1 at Cherokee Ridge Country Club in Union Grove. Wallace State Volleyball Defeats Calhoun in Conference Play Wallace State secured a 3-1 victory over Calhoun Community College on Sept. 26 in a competitive conference matchup. The Lady Lions clinched the win with set scores of 25-23, 15-25, 25-20, and 25-18, showcasing balanced play across the court.
Athletics Roundup: Volleyball sweeps Pellissippi State, falls to Snead State; Women’s Golf Finish Fourth at Mustang Invitational

The Wallace State Volleyball team secured a 3-0 victory over Pellissippi State on Sept. 14, 2024, with set scores of 25-12, 26-24 and 25-13. The Wallace State Women’s Golf team delivered a strong performance at the 2024 Mustang Invitational, hosted by Northeast Alabama Community College at Goose Pond Plantation in Scottsboro on Sept. 16 and 17. The Lady Lions finished fourth overall in a competitive field of eight teams.
Six Wallace State Teams Earn NJCAA Academic Team of the Year Honors

Six athletic teams at Wallace State Community College have been honored with NJCAA Academic Team of the Year designations for the 2023-2024 academic year. This recognition highlights the commitment to academic excellence demonstrated by these teams in their respective sports.
More than 100 student athletes named on ACCC Commissioner’s Honor Roll

More than 100 student athletes from all 12 sports teams at Wallace State Community College were recognized by the Alabama Community College Conference (ACCC) for academic achievement by being named to the Commissioner’s Honor Roll for the Spring 2024 semester. “These student-athletes and teams should be extremely proud of themselves, as they have balanced academics with practice and games,” said Commissioner Dean Myrick. “I am very proud of them, along with the faculty and staff at our amazing colleges for the work they do in preparing our student-athletes for life outside of athletics.” Additionally, eight Wallace State teams were recognized for collectively achieving a GPA of 3.0 or higher for the 2023-2024 academic year. They include Men’s Cross Country, Women’s Cross Country, Men’s Golf, Women’s Golf, Softball, Men’s Tennis, Women’s Tennis and Volleyball.
Wallace State Men’s Golf 19th in nation; women’s Aidan Haithcock 22nd in nation

Wallace State Community College men’s golf finished the season No. 19 in the nation after their appearance at the 2024 National Junior College (NJCAA) Division I Men’s National Championship at Rockwind Community Links Golf Club in Hobbs, NM. Wallace State golfer Aidan Haithcock of Homewood finished 22nd in the nation individually at the NJCAA DI Women’s National Championship. In four rounds of play she came in +4 in the first and final rounds, +6 in the second round and was even for the third round.
