Wallace State Volleyball Falls at Calhoun, Ending Nine-Match Win Streak
Wallace State volleyball's nine-match winning streak came to an end Wednesday night, as the Lions dropped a 3-0 (14-25, 22-25, 14-25) decision on the road at Calhoun in Alabama Community College Conference play.
The loss moves Wallace State to 20-3 overall and 6-1 in ACCC competition, while giving the Lady Warhawks a key victory on their home floor.
Setter Ali Price once again led the Lions' attack, recording a team-high 23 assists to go along with 11 digs. Rachel Mecklenburg paced the offense with 10 kills, while Makenzie Noles added seven kills and Cheyenne Lucas chipped in six. Defensively, Abby McDonald finished with eight digs and Darcy Alford contributed seven.
Despite the setback, the Lions remain in a strong position within the conference standings and will look to bounce back quickly. Wallace State returns to action Sunday, traveling to Bevill State for another ACCC matchup at 3 p.m.
