Wallace State Men’s Soccer Battles to 1-1 Draw at Enterprise State
ENTERPRISE – Wallace State men's soccer earned a point on the road Saturday, playing to a 1-1 tie in an Alabama Community College Conference matchup against Enterprise State.
A Tight First Half
Neither side could find the back of the net in the opening half as both defenses held firm. The Lions created a handful of opportunities but were unable to break through before the break.
Second-Half Response
Enterprise State struck first in the 61st minute, capitalizing on a chance to grab a 1-0 lead. Wallace State wasted little time answering. Just two minutes later, sophomore forward Austin Holley netted the equalizer off a well-placed assist from Yaya Jawneh, leveling the score at 1-1.
The Lions continued to push forward in search of a winner, but the match ended in a stalemate.
From the Coach
"We weren't at our best in the first half, but we turned it around in the second half," Wallace State head coach James Fee said. "Austin Holley scored the goal for us, assisted by Yaya Jawneh."
